Mountain Goat Brewery is the beer-lovers’ dream writ large. This boutique establishment was conceived in a Melbourne backyard by two men whose home-brewing project had just gone south.

Refusing to admit defeat, the boys embarked on a crusade to brew seriously good beer. Mountain Goat Brewery is the result.

While the beers have evolved over the years – collecting a slew of awards along the way – Mountain Goat is still independent, and remains committed to a completely natural brewing process using only malt, hops, yeast and water.

The Goat is now available for private hire on Saturdays from noon ‘til late. Ten-metre warehouse ceilings, original red brick walls and impressive brewing tanks make this a uniquely appealing venue with loads of charm.

Mountain Goat Brewery is a dedicated party space, with room for 150 guests – seated, standing, dancing, whatever – and within easy reach of the city and public transport.

Best of all: the beers! Mountain Goat’s bespoke brews include traditional English style real ale, robust stout and a series of one-off amber blends.
